The Ad Diriyah eTROPHY race will take place around the demanding 2.4 km Riyadh Street Circuit, which made its debut on the FIA Formula E calendar this year.
The circuit is situated in the Diriyah district on the north-western outskirts of the Saudi capital, Riyadh and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2010 due to its vast array of historic buildings and its past as the original home of the Saudi Royal Family.
Round 1 of the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY Championship will take place on 15th December at 14:00 local time (11:00 GMT/06:00 EST).
But there’s lots of eTROPHY action before the race too! Here are the key times for all the weekend’s action:
14th December – Shakedown – 14:00 AST (11:00 GMT/06:00 EST)
14th December – Free Practice – 16:30 AST (13:30 GMT/ 03:30 EST)
15th December – Qualifying – 08:35 AST (00:35 GMT /08:35 EST)
How can I watch?
What to look for?
The Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY cars will be the first to take to the brand new Riyadh Street Circuit, which makes its debut in 2018.
The circuit is relatively long and has fast, flowing sections that run from T4 all the way through most of the lap to T14. This section will be demanding on the brakes and will be tricky for overtaking, but should allow the cars to run close to one another and open up an opportunity for a dive down the inside at T14.
The long main straight and the back straight between T17 and T18 should give the cars a chance to push hard, and will create some drama in the hard braking zones.
